Following a consultation process, the FFT has chosen HBS France Production to support it with this task, granting host broadcaster status for the Parisian Grand Slam event from 2021 through to 2023.
FFT to produce TV coverage of Roland-Garros in-house from 2021
The French Tennis Federation has decided to go in-house with the production of TV coverage of Roland-Garros from 2021.
From 2021 onwards the FFT will cherish the opportunity to provide TV coverage of the tournament in its entirety for all 150 broadcasters in France and around the world.
In doing so, the FFT aims to meet the expectations and demands for quality for the world’s broadcasters by producing content tailored to their needs and to those of viewers. The FFT is also looking to continue innovating.
Its partnership with HBS France Production coincides with the latest allocation of the audiovisual rights to Roland-Garros in France* and the introduction of evening sessions, which will take place on Court Philippe-Chatrier through to the Wednesday of the tournament’s final week.
*Audiovisual rights to Roland-Garros in France for the 2021-2023 period were awarded last July, with France Télévisions being allocated Package 1 (comprising every match at the tournament with the exception of those played on Court Simonne-Mathieu and in the evening sessions), and Amazon being awarded Package 2 (comprising the matches played on Court Simonne-Mathieu and in the evening sessions on Court Philippe-Chatrier). The semi-finals and finals will be shown by both broadcasters.
