Day 8 is upon us and the first Roland-Garros 2020 quarter-final places will be filled.
Play will commence at 11:00am on all courts with the likes of Grand Slam champions Rafael Nadal, Simona Halep and Dominic Thiem all in action.
Women’s third seed Elina Svitolina is also in the line-up as she faces resurgent Frenchwoman Caroline Garcia.
>ORDER OF PLAY: Day 8 – Sunday October 4
Twelve-time champion Nadal remembers watching Petr Korda contest the 1992 Roland-Garros final and on Sunday he will face his son, Sebastian Korda, for the first time on Court Philippe-Chatrier.
The 20-year-old Korda, ranked No.213, is the first qualifier to reach the fourth round in Paris in nine years.
US Open champion Thiem, the third seed, faces another rising youngster ranked outside the top 200 in French surprise Hugo Gaston, Stan Wawrinka’s conqueror.
There is a sense of déjà vu for top seed Halep this year. After defeating Polish teenager Iga Swiatek in the fourth round last year she fell to Amanda Anisimova in the quarter-finals. This year she thrashed Anisimova to reach the fourth round and will be determined to block Swiatek’s bid to exact revenge.
