10:12pm Sabalenka reaches maiden RG quarter-final

No.2 seed Aryna Sabalenka had to extinguish multiple comeback attempts from American Sloane Stephens in both sets before securing her place in the last eight with a 7-6(5), 6-4 victory over the former US Open champion.

Sabalenka is through to the quarter-finals in Paris for the first time in her career and will next take on Elina Svitolina.

9:33pm Sabalenka takes the lead

After squandering a 5-0 lead, and trailing 2-4 in the tiebreak, Sabalenka manages to halt Stephens to take a 63-minute opening set 7-6(5). Stephens put in a monumental effort to level for 5-5 in the set but a horrendous forehand error on return gifted Sabalenka the lead. That was wild!

9:17pm Incredible Sloane fightback

From 0-5 down, Sloane Stephens has managed to level the opening set at 5-all against No.2 seed Aryna Sabalenka and the Court Philippe-Chatrier crowd are absolutely loving it.

9:05pm Tsitsipas sets up Alcaraz quarter-final

"Carlos, take it easy, hermano. Sharing is caring!" That was Stefanos Tsitsipas' message during the trophy ceremony in Barcelona a few weeks ago when he suffered a fourth defeat in as many meetings with Carlos Alcaraz.

They will clash again in the Roland-Garros quarter-finals on Tuesday after Tsitsipas secured his spot with a 7-5, 6-3, 6-0 win over Austrian qualifier Sebastian Ofner in today's fourth-round action.

The Greek world No.5 will feature in his seventh Grand Slam quarter-final overall, and third on Parisian clay.

7:17pm Alcaraz secures passage to last eight

Just a couple of hours after Novak Djokovic booked his spot in the last eight, on the same court, Carlos Alcaraz advanced to a second consecutive Roland-Garros quarter-final; which means we are just two wins away from the highly-anticipated potential semi-final between Alcaraz and Djokovic.

Alcaraz extended his Grand Slam match-winning streak to 11 in a row with a 6-3, 6-2, 6-2 success over No.17 Lorenzo Musetti and is now 34-3 on the season, 24-2 on clay.

The 20-year-old Spaniard will face Stefanos Tsitsipas or Sebastian Ofner for a place in the final four.

6:57pm Svitolina ousts Kasatkina

Playing her first Grand Slam since giving birth to her daughter Skai in October, Elina Svitolina is through to the quarter-finals with an impressive 6-4, 7-6(5) upset of No.9 seed Daria Kasatkina.

Kasatkina saved a match point and broke for 5-5 in the second set, and had to break again as Svitolina failed to serve out the match a second time, as the pair went to a tiebreak. It all ultimately proved to be a brief delay for Svitolina, who snatched the breaker to reach the quarter-finals on Parisian clay for the fourth time in her career.

Svitolina, who won the Strasbourg title on the eve of Roland-Garros, is now on a nine-match winning streak and awaits in the last-eight stage the winner of the night-session showdown between world No.2 Aryna Sabalenka and former US Open champion Sloane Stephens.

5:55pm First set to Alcaraz

After falling 0-2 early in the set, world No.1 Alcaraz struck back to claim a 6-3 lead in 44 minutes over Musetti.

5:10pm Can Lorenzo stop Carlitos?

No.17 seed Lorenzo Musetti takes a 1-0 head-to-head record into his clash with world No.1 Carlos Alcaraz, who lost to the Italian in the Hamburg final last July.

The match has just started on Court Philippe-Chatrier as Musetti looks to pull off an upset. The 21-year-old hasn't dropped a set so far through three matches this week and was broken just three times (36 of 39 games held, 92%).

Alcaraz, the reigning US Open champion, is on a 10-match Grand Slam winning streak. He is looking to reach the Roland-Garros quarter-finals for the second year in a row. Alcaraz is 33-3 on the season and 23-2 on clay.

4:41pm Djokovic strolls into last eight

Novak Djokovic has punched his ticket to a tournament solo record 17th Roland-Garros quarter-final with a 6-3, 6-2, 6-2 result against Peruvian Juan Pablo Varillas on Court Philippe-Chatrier.

The Serbian 22-time Grand Slam champion next takes on Karen Khachanov.

4:38pm Muchova eases past Avanesyan

Czech world No.43 Karolina Muchova is into the fourth Grand Slam quarter-final of her career - and first at Roland-Garros - with a 6-4, 6-3 victory over lucky loser Elina Avanesyan.

The crafty 26-year-old will take on Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova for a place in the final four.

"I'm happy I managed to close the first set and the second, I was starting to get a bit nervous from my side," said Muchova on court.

3:00pm Djokovic-Varillas underway

Two-time champion Novak Djokovic has leapt to a 4-0 lead in his fourth-round meeting with Peruvian world No.94 Juan Pablo Varillas, who is the first Peruvian man to reach the last 16 at Roland-Garros since Jaime Yzaga in 1994.

Djokovic has reached the quarter-finals on Parisian clay every year since 2010. The Serb is 16-0 in Roland-Garros fourth-round matches overall.

2:38pm Khachanov into last eight

No.11 seed Karen Khachanov has reached the second Roland-Garros quarter-final of his career with a 1-6, 6-4, 7-6(7), 6-1 victory over Italian Lorenzo Sonego.

Khachanov is into a third consecutive Grand Slam quarter-final and fifth overall. He will face No.3 seed Novak Djokovic or Peruvian Juan Pablo Varillas next.

2:19pm Pavlyuchenkova completes 3-hour comeback win

After missing seven months of action last year - including RG2022 - to recover from a knee injury, a 333rd-ranked Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova has made her way back into the Roland-Garros quarter-finals with a 3-6, 7-6(3), 6-3 victory over No.28 seed Elise Mertens.

The 2021 finalist, who used a special protected ranking of No.21 to enter this year's draw, improved to 28-14 lifetime at Roland-Garros, and is into the quarter-finals on Parisian clay for the third time in her career.

Pavlyuchenkova awaits the winner of Karolina Muchova and Elina Avanesyan in the last-eight stage (Update: Muchova).

2:00pm Khachanov inches ahead

In a third set that lasted 70 minutes, Khachanov squandered a break advantage and initially couldn't serve out the set, allowing Sonego to level for 5-5, but the No.11 seed took the tiebreak and now leads the Italian 1-6, 6-4, 7-6(7).

Meanwhile on Chatrier, Mertens has received medical treatment for a physical issue more than once and is down 1-5 in the decider against Pavlyuchenkova.

1:09pm All square on Chatrier too

Pavlyuchenkova digs deep to turn things around and take the second set in a tiebreak, 7-6(3) to force a decider against Mertens. We've just hit the two-hour mark on this match, with the second set lasting 71 minutes.

12:45pm All square on Lenglen

Khachanov has snagged a 58-minute second set to level the match against Sonego 1-6, 6-4.

12:25pm Junior top seed advances

Japan's Sarah Saito, the No.1 seed in the girls' singles draw, eased past local wildcard Daphnee Mpetshi Perricard 6-0, 6-3 to reach the second round. The 16-year-old Saito won two J300 tournaments earlier this year in Asuncion and Porto Alegre and is ranked No.2 in the world junior rankings.

11:58am Mertens in the lead

Belgian No.28 Elise Mertens is off to a solid start against 2021 finalist Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova, leading 6-3 on Court Philippe-Chatrier. The pair split their two previous meetings and are squaring off for the first time since 2017.

Mertens upset world No.3 Jessica Pegula in the third round and is looking to reach her first Roland-Garros quarter-final on her seventh main draw appearance.

Pavlyuchenkova missed the action in Paris last year as she took an extended break from the sport to recover from a knee problem. Currently ranked 333 and making her way back up the charts, Pavlyuchenkova is the lowest-ranked woman to reach the last 16 at Roland-Garros since Serena Williams in 2018.

11:48am Advantage Sonego

Lorenzo Sonego's bid for a maiden Grand Slam quarter-final is off to a rocking start as he grabs the opening set 6-1 over No.11 seed Karen Khachanov in just 36 minutes.

Khachanov leads their head-to-head 2-1 but Sonego is feeling confident having upset No.7 seed Andrey Rublev in the third round to post the sixth top-10 victory of his career and first at a Grand Slam.

Khachanov, who made the semi-finals in his last two majors, is searching for a second Roland-Garros quarter-final appearance.
