American teenager Coco Gauff stormed into the maiden Grand Slam final of her career with a 6-3, 6-1 success over Italian Martina Trevisan on Thursday.

The 18-year-old Gauff snapped Trevisan's 10-match winning streak and avenged her defeat to the Florentine at Roland-Garros from two years ago.

Gauff is the youngest women's finalist in Paris since Kim Clijsters in 2001 and the youngest at any Slam since Maria Sharapova at Wimbledon 2004.

She will square off with world No.1 and 2020 champion Iga Swiatek in Saturday's championship match.

Another RG final for Iga

Earlier on Court Philippe-Chatrier, world No.1 Iga Swiatek posted an impressive 6-2, 6-1 victory over No.20 seed Daria Kasatkina to reach her second Roland-Garros final in three years.

The 21-year-old Pole dropped just two points behind her first serve in a 36-minute opening set and lost a mere four points on serve in total in the second en route to a 64-minute triumph.

Swiatek extended her winning streak to 34 matches and takes a 2-0 head-to-head lead into her final with Gauff.

The 2020 Roland-Garros champion has now equalled Serena Williams' streak of 34 consecutive victories from 2013, which is the second-longest unbeaten run on the women's tour this century.

Honouring BJK

A ceremony in honour of the legendary Billie Jean King on the 50th anniversary of her Roland-Garros triumph took place on Court Philippe-Chatrier between the two women's semi-finals.

King will also receive the Legion d’Honneur from French President Emmanuel Macron at Élysée Palace on Friday for her fight for women's sport, gender equality and the rights of LGBTQ people in sport.

Three Czechs into girls' semis

Czech tennis is the gift that keeps on giving and it looks like there will be plenty of young talent ready to take on the mantle from the likes of Petra Kvitova and Karolina Pliskova in the near future.
