11:30pm Monfils pulls out of Roland-Garros

Gael Monfils has held a press conference here in the media centre to announce he will have to withdraw from the tournament due to a left wrist injury. No.6 seed Holger Rune has been given a walkover into the third round, where he awaits Andrea Vavassori or Genaro Alberto Olivieri.

11:17pm Djokovic through in straights

World No.3 Novak Djokovic is through to the Roland-Garros third round for an 18th consecutive year, thanks to a 7-6(2), 6-0, 6-3 victory over Hungarian Marton Fucsovics.

Djokovic will next take on Spain's No.29 seed Alejandro Davidovich Fokina in the last 32.

10:15pm Djokovic up a set and two breaks

It was a tight opening set but Djokovic seems to have found his range as he leads Fucsovics 7-6(2), 3-0 after 1hr 46min of play.

9:27pm Rublev through to face Sonego

In a rematch of the Doha 2020 final, Andrey Rublev defeated France's Corentin Moutet in their second-round encounter. Once again he emerged victorious, this time over four sets - 6-4, 6-2, 3-6, 6-4.

The No.7 seed's record on clay this season is now 14-3, which will stand him in good stead for the tough test that awaits him in the third round - against Italy's Lorenzo Sonego.

8:30pm Djokovic v Fucsovics in prime time

Novak Djokovic headlines his first night session of the fortnight and is warming up on court with his opponent Marton Fucsovics of Hungary on Court Philippe-Chatrier.

Djokovic, the world No.3, is looking to reach the third round on Parisian clay for a remarkable 18th consecutive year.

Lenglen gets a bonus match!

Fans at Roland-Garros have been given a fun surprise as an extra match has been added to the Court Suzanne-Lenglen schedule and it will be open to everyone onsite. The second round between Italian No.17 seed Lorenzo Musetti and Alexander Shevchenko has been moved from Court 7 to Lenglen and will start not before 7:45pm.

7:10pm Alcaraz advances in four sets

World No.1 Carlos Alcaraz improved his tour-leading record on clay for the season to 22-2 with a 6-1, 3-6, 6-1, 6-2 victory over Japan's Taro Daniel.

Alcaraz is through to the Roland-Garros third round for the third time in as many appearances and will next take on No.26 seed Denis Shapovalov, a four-set winner over Matteo Arnaldi.

6:03pm Eight years later!

Thanasi Kokkinakis has made his way back into the Roland-Garros third round for the first time since 2015, needing 4hr 38min to overcome a gallant Stan Wawrinka 3-6, 7-5, 6-3, 6-7(4), 6-3.

The final game of the match lasted over 10 minutes and saw Kokkinakis finally close it out on his fifth opportunity, to book a last-32 clash with No.11 seed Karen Khachanov or Moldovan Radu Albot.

5:25pm Carlitos given run for his money

The ever-improving Taro Daniel dropped the opening set 6-1 to world No.1 Carlos Alcaraz but is striking back in the second, leaping to a 4-1 lead. You can follow the live scores HERE.

In her impressive straight-sets win over former finalist Marketa Vondrousova, Daria Kasatkina hit this gem of a tweener winner. Enjoy!

5:18pm Sabalenka back in third round

World No.2 Aryna Sabalenka has advanced to the Roland-Garros last-32 stage for a fourth consecutive year with a 7-5, 6-2 victory over 25-year-old qualifier Iryna Shymanovich.

The reigning Australian Open champion now awaits the winner of the round two clash between Kamilla Rakhimova and Magdalena Frech.

3:37pm Home favourite Garcia suffers upset

No.5 seed Caroline Garcia has suffered a second-round exit at the hands of world No.56 Anna Blinkova, who posted a 4-6, 6-3, 7-5 result to reach the last 32 at Roland-Garros for the second time in her career.

Garcia saved three match points in game 10 of the final set, and broke on her fourth opportunity of the game to level the decider at 5-all and stay alive in the contest. But her attempted comeback was short-lived as Blinkova broke again and closed out a 10-minute service game on her nine match point to move into the last 32.

3:20pm Thursday Order of Play is out

Casper Ruud, Iga Swiatek and Ons Jabeur get day session honours on Court Philippe-Chatrier on Thursday, while Gael Monfils returns to the prime time night-session slot to take on Danish No.6 seed Holger Rune.

Rybakina - Noskova

3:00pm Caro taken to a third

French No.5 seed Caroline Garcia is going the distance on Court Philippe-Chatrier against world No.56 Anna Blinkova. Garcia took the opening set 6-4, before Blinkova struck back by clinching the second 6-3.

2:22pm Czech No.1 seeds out

On the first day of women's doubles, Barbora Krejcikova and Katerina Siniakova are out in the first round, beaten 3-6, 6-2, 6-2 by Norway's Ulrikke Eikeri and Japan's Eri Hozumi.

Krejcikova and Siniakova had been on a roll - winning the last four Grand Slams they entered - dating back to Australian Open 2022 (they missed last year's Roland-Garros).

1:27pm Straight-sets win for Tsitsipas

2021 finalist Stefanos Tsitsipas faced resistance in the second set before cruising to a 6-3, 7-6(4), 6-2 victory over Spaniard Roberto Carballes Baena over on Court Suzanne-Lenglen in 2hr 16min.

It was Tsitsipas' 20th career victory at Roland-Garros and he's into the third round on Parisian clay for a fifth consecutive year.

The Greek No.5 seed will next take on Diego Schwartzman, who dismissed Nuno Borges, in the last 32.

12:55pm Stearns upsets Ostapenko

American world No.69 Peyton Stearns has knocked out 2017 Roland-Garros champion and No.17 seed Jelena Ostapenko 6-3, 1-6, 6-2 over on Court 14.

The 21-year-old Stearns, a former University of Texas standout and 2022 NCAA champion, needed 1hr 43min to overcome Ostapenko in what was the American's first ever match against a top-20 opponent.

Stearns, who is 18-5 on clay across all levels in 2023, awaits the winner of the match between No.9 seed Daria Kasatkina and former Roland-Garros finalist Marketa Vondrousova in round three.

12:40pm Pegula through as Giorgi retires

World No.3 Jessica Pegula took a commanding 6-2 lead over Italian big-hitter Camila Giorgi on Court Philippe-Chatrier before her opponent decided to retire, sending her into the third round.

This was their 10th career meeting and Pegula now owns an 8-2 head-to-head record lead over Giorgi, including victories in their last five encounters.

Pegula will face No.28 seed Elise Mertens, who defeated Colombian lucky loser Camila Osorio, in the third round.

11:52am Tsitsipas looking comfortable

Targeting a 20th Roland-Garros match-win today, No.5 seed Stefanos Tsitsipas is up 6-3 on Spanish world No.57 Roberto Carballes Baena.

Tsitsipas is looking to reach the third round in Paris for a fifth consecutive year.

11:30am Women's doubles event begins

The women's doubles event has kicked off today with top seeds Barbora Krejcikova and Katerina Siniakova headlining the draw. The Czech duo have won the last four Grand Slams they have entered - dating back to Australian Open 2022 (they missed last year's Roland-Garros) - and are currently on court leading Norway's Ulrikke Eikeri and Japan's Eri Hozumi by a set.
