On 30 and 31 May (subject to change depending on weather conditions), 32 girls and 32 boys will compete to reach the main draw of the Roland-Garros junior tournament, to be held from 2 to 8 June on the courts at Porte d’Auteuil. Before setting foot on the prestigious Roland-Garros clay courts, the hopefuls must win two high-stakes matches at the heart of the Cercle Athlétique de Montrouge and Tennis Club de la Châtaigneraie à Rueil-Malmaison.
Junior tournament: Qualifiers under way
The draws and schedules are available for the qualifying rounds of the boys’ and girls’ singles tournaments.
Girls’ singles qualifiers
Led by No.1 seed Ukraine’s Yelyzaveta Kotliar and Britain’s Gabia Paskauskas, seeded No.2, the 32 girls in the running were randomly placed in the draw last night. At the end of the first round, 16 competitors will battle it out for the eight precious spots in the main draw.
Boys’ singles qualifiers
The same system will apply to the boys’ competition, whose two top seeds are Switzerland’s Henry Bernet and Italy’s Daniele Rapagnetta.

Twelve young French players have been invited to take part in the qualifying events: Lila Grace Bachour, Seda Baslilar, Massiva Boukirat, Séverine Deppner, Victoire Lansaman, Louna Zoppas for the girls, and Victor Barreira-Bonzom, Lenny Couturier, Mathys Domenc, Mickael Kaouk, Ferdinand Livet Novkirichka and Evan Simon for the boys.
