After a highly successful 2024 edition in Brazil and the tournament’s expansion to Asia with its first-ever event in Japan, Roland-Garros Junior Series by Renault is set to return to São Paulo, hosted once again at Sociedade Harmonia de Tênis, the exclusive Roland-Garros Club in Brazil.

The 2025 edition will take place from March 31 to April 6, bringing together 32 of the best under-17-year-old players from across Latin America - 16 girls and 16 boys - all competing for a dream opportunity: a wild-card entry to Roland-Garros Junior tournament in Paris. "Roland-Garros Junior Series by Renault is a key part of our commitment to developing future tennis champions in South America, said Gilles Moretton, the French Tennis Federation President. Our collaboration with COSAT (South American Tennis Confederation) provides young talents with a unique opportunity to compete at the highest junior level. Seeing players like João Fonseca succeed proves the tournament’s impact, and we look forward to discovering the next stars of Roland-Garros".

Joao Fonseca as an example

Back in 2022, Joao Fonseca made his first steps in this tournament. The Brazilian talent won this first edition, a key moment of his career that helped his development through the world of junior tennis. Following this victory, he became the World No.1 in the ITF Junior ranking. Two years later, he claimed the ATP Next Gen title in December 2024 and secured his first Grand Slam win against a Top 10 player at 2025 Australian Open, against Andrey Rublev. Last February, he secured his first ATP Tour title at the Argentina Open in Buenos Aires. These wins made him the youngest South American to win an ATP tournament and elevated his world ranking to No.78. A rapid ascent that demonstrates how Roland-Garros Junior Series by Renault serves as a steppingstone for the next generation of tennis stars.

Learning from the bests

Roland-Garros Junior Series by Renault continues its commitment to encouraging young talent in Latin America by welcoming Juan Martin del Potro as an event ambassador for the third consecutive year. This year, he will be joined by the legendary Argentine tennis icon Gabriela Sabatini. More than just a competition, the tournament aims to provide players with a meaningful experience, helping them learn and grow both as athletes and individuals.
