1 – Roger Federer has lost a Grand Slam match to a player ranked as low as his next opponent No.144 Oscar Otte on one previous occasion – when he fell to No.154 Mario Ancic in the first round at 2002 Wimbledon.

2 – Opponents named Yannick faced by Rafael Nadal at Roland-Garros 2019. In the first round he saw off Yannick Hanfmann; next it’s Yannick Maden. Should Nadal seal that win, then the draw will become a Yannick-free zone.

2 – Oscar Otte, who faces Federer on Wednesday, is competing as a lucky loser here for the 2nd straight year.

6 – Career clay-court titles won by Kiki Bertens, after she captured the Madrid title this month and put herself among the favourites for Roland-Garros. She faces Viktoria Kuzmova in the second round.

8 – Elina Svitolina’s age when she first met her second round opponent and good friend Kateryna Kozlova. “She was born in a city close to my own, and is only seven months older than me,” Svitolina told the BBC. “We grew up playing against each other in junior tournaments but never on the WTA Tour so it's amazing we're now here in a Grand Slam facing each other. It’s great to be playing an old friend - and to know there will definitely be someone from Ukraine in the third round!"

12 – The record accumulation of Grand slam wildcards for Nicolas Mahut throughout his career. Injury problems this season meant the current world No.253 almost refused his 9th wildcard into Roland-Garros, but he repaid the organisers’ faith with his thrilling five-set defeat of the No.16 seed Marco Cecchinato in the first round. Next up for Mahut is Philipp Kohlschreiber.

13 – Petra Martic is targeting a tour-leading 13th match-win on clay this season when she takes on Kristina Mladenovic in the second round on Wednesday. She would join Bertens and Maria Sakkari at the top of the 2019 match-wins on clay leaderboard.

67 Roger Federer is gunning for a 67th match-win at Roland-Garros. Rafael Nadal is the only man to record more victories here than the Swiss.

258 – Karolina Pliskova’s Tour-leading figure of aces delivered to date in 2019. Five of that tally came against Madison Brengle in the opening round. She faces Kristina Kucova next.

1,300 – the total WTA ranking points that Sloane Stephens is defending as 2018 Roland-Garros runner-up. She has 70 in the bag as a result of her first round win over Misaki Doi. Next up is Sara Sorribes Tormo, who she beat in two tie-break sets last month in Charleston.
