This year, the draw for the wheelchair tennis events sponsored by The Adecco Group has been extended, with 16 women and 16 men now competing for the title. Who will take over from the 2022 champions Shingo Kunieda, Diede de Groot and Niels Vink (quad)?
Wheelchair tennis: Entry list announced
The players who will take part in the 2023 tournament (6th-10th June) have now been announced.
Wheelchair tennis men’s singles
This new-look event allows two players to benefit from a wildcard, meaning that French players Frédéric Cattaneo and Stéphane Houdet were able to enter the men’s singles draw. The draw also features World No.1 Alfie Hewett – winner of the 2023 Australian Open and three-time winner of the singles and doubles at Roland-Garros – as well as Gustavo Fernandez, who was defeated in the final last year after an epic duel with legendary player Shingo Kunieda.

Wheelchair tennis women’s singles
Just like in the men’s draw, two French players – Pauline Déroulède and Emmanuelle Morch – have been issued a wildcard to play in the 2023 tournament. Three-time winner in the singles and five-time doubles champion – alongside compatriot Aniek van Koot – World No.1 Diede de Groot will also be present, as well as the 2021 and 2022 runner-up, Yui Kamiji.

The wheelchair tennis discipline will enjoy even more exposure this year, as one of the finals is being played on Philippe-Chatrier court and broadcast live on TV.
Quad singles
In the quad tournament, eight players will do battle on the clay courts in the Porte d’Auteuil. After winning his first Grand Slam title at age 19 here last year, Niels Vink will defend his crown and could well meet fellow Dutchman and doubles partner Sam Schroder for a remake of the 2022 final. In this category, only Japan’s Koji Sugeno has been issued a wildcard.
