Highlights of the tournament

By defeating the defending champion, 34-year-old Ken Rosewall, Rod Laver sets off in pursuit of what will be his second Grand Slam whilst also gaining some revenge on his fellow Australian who had beaten him in the final the previous year. 

Once again, Australia pulls off the men’s / women’s singles “double” with the Margaret Smith Court’s success against Ann Haydon-Jones.
