Alcaraz, Sabalenka make it a fiesta in Madrid
Issued a wildcard by the organisers, Mirra Andreeva became the youngest ever female player to reach the Round of 16 at a WTA 1000 tournament. At just 16 years of age, she notched up 16 consecutive victories in her first outings on the professional tour, before bowing out to the future champion Aryna Sabalenka.
