Roland-Garros 2024
"Order of play" challenge #4
A two-time champion (1959, 1960) and two-time finalist (1961, 1964), Nicola Pietrangeli left his mark on Roland-Garros, as much for his performances as for his personality. Much loved by the French crowd, the Italian remembers with emotion the era when sports achievements coexisted with glamorous events at Régine's or at the Crazy Horse. Nicknamed "The captain", he explains that he has enjoyed himself throughout his career and relates his Parisian adventures in a series of colourful anecdotes, both on and off the court.
