Since Roland-Garros is synonymous with elegance and exceeding one’s limits, jewellery creators FRED have added to their famous Force 10 collection – the ultimate in unisex sportswear jewellery – by creating a capsule collection designed especially for the event and decorated with the iconic logo of the Parisian Grand Slam. The perfect match of fine jewellery and tennis…
FRED x Roland-Garros: a Force 10 capsule collection
FRED and Roland-Garros are playing doubles at the 2023 tournament with a collaboration in the colours of the legendary Parisian tournament.
Match point with FRED
Founded in Paris, FRED is a prominent name in fine jewellery-making. Inspired by the extraordinary personality of its founder, Fred Samuel, FRED quickly made a name for itself as a pioneering, timeless and atypical brand, with its “bijou à vivre” jewellery becoming a favourite everyday accessory for women from 1936 onwards. For the prestigious tournament held in the Porte d'Auteuil, FRED is embarking on its very first collaboration with Roland-Garros and has designed a Force 10 capsule collection in the colours of this legendary competition. A symbol of relaxed French elegance, the duo embodies the shared values of authenticity, passion and excellence.
Sport, jewellery and red clay
The idea of surpassing oneself and a sporty-chic style have always characterised the famous Force 10 collection, which was first created in 1966 and represents the ultimate in unisex sportswear jewellery. Originally created as a tribute to the extreme power of the wind and the bravery of sailors, it has become a symbol of all the values of sport. FRED is now offering the collection a new playground – the red clay – by collaborating with one of the world’s most famous tournaments, which is considered by the greatest athletes as one of the most demanding: Roland-Garros. Bringing this iconic bracelet and the legendary tournament together was a logical choice for the 2023 tournament.
Jewellery on the courts
For this first exclusive capsule collection, designed for both women and men, FRED wanted to pay a vibrant tribute to the essence of the Roland-Garros tournament: its instantly-recognisable colours and its unique blend of elegance and informality. This gave rise to two brand-new Force 10 buckles: the first combines yellow gold with a pavé of 64 white and yellow diamonds, citrines, yellow sapphires and spessartite garnets. The second, meanwhile, is an ultra-refined version in white gold.
Two very different styles that enhance the wearer’s allure and personality with an emblematic signature: a tennis ball motif engraved on the ball on the side of the buckle. On the reverse, a terracotta-hued garnet, a nod to the distinctive shade of the tennis courts, is set like a hyphen between the name FRED and the logo of the Roland-Garros tournament.
Also adorned with the Roland-Garros logo, the cable (or bracelet) is in terracotta for the first time, which perfectly offsets the white, yellow or rose gold buckle.
To celebrate the first year of this collaboration, FRED has also designed a limited-edition series of two-coloured woven cable bracelets in white and terracotta.
Worn on their own or several together, these interchangeable Force 10 bracelets are the perfect addition to any summer outfit or sports kit. Sporty-chic jewellery designed for tennis lovers, players and fans.
