A pumped up Putintseva had all the answers at the Bullring on Sunday to clinch her best victory by ranking of 2018. Konta prevailed in their previous two bouts, both on clay, but world No.93 Putintseva returned to the Roland-Garros second round for a fourth successive year. The Kazakh recorded just two clay-court wins this season prior to Paris and is rewarded with a clash against Jennifer Brady at the next hurdle.
