Another 16-year-old to watch is Leylah Annie Fernandez, who became the first-ever Canadian girl to clinch the Roland-Garros junior singles title when she beat American Emma Navarro 6-3, 6-2. Fernandez, who fell to eventual champion Coco Gauff in last year’s semi-finals, achieved the notable feat of lifting the trophy without dropping a set.
