She won this third (and final) Roland-Garros title after defeating Czech player Lucie Safarova in the 2015 final. During her last press conference at the US Open 2022, at the question: "What are you proudest about that you've achieved in your whole career?", Serena answered: "Roland-Garros 2015. That is definitely the one that I'm taking with beacause I almost died in this event. Somehow I won. So that was pretty awesome".
