It's a wrap...

It's been another memorable day on the Paris clay - well over 12 hours of drama since the first balls were struck at 10am this morning.

Play starts at 11am on Saturday when we'll finish off the three heldover men's matches in the bottom half of the draw and complete another eight in the top half as well as eight third round contests in the bottom half of the women's draw.

By Saturday night - weather permitting - we'll know exactly who will be playing who in the last 16 of both singles draws.

There's a ton of doubles to enjoy tomorrow too and we'll be with you from first ball to last throughout Day 7.

Until then...

>> SATURDAY ORDER OF PLAY

Alcaraz gets past Korda

As Moutet is wrapping up against Ofner, on Chatrier Carlos Alcaraz finishes off Sebi Korda 6-4, 7-6(5), 6-3 in 2 hours and 39 minutes.

The Spanish third seed will also be back on Sunday when he'll go up against either Ben Shelton or Felix Auger-Aliassime in the last 16.

Their third round match was stopped by rain on Friday night and will be finished on Saturday. They'll resume with FAA serving for the first set at 5-4.

Moutet sets up Sinner meeting

Corentin Moutet beats Sebastian Ofner on Lenglen 3-6, 6-4, 6-4, 6-1 to book a spot in the fourth round in Paris for the first time in his career. The lefty is one of two French players still going in the singles. Varvara Gracheva plays Irina-Camelia Begu in the women's third round on Saturday.

Moutet's reward is a shot at No.2 seed Jannik Sinner on Sunday. It will be the second time he's played in the fourth round at a major after reaching the last 16 in New York in 2022.

Best of Day 6

If you've missed any of Friday's action sit back and enjoy our recap of Day 6 in Paris. It's been FUN 🤩

22:49

Moutet madness on Lenglen

Corentin Moutet is conducting the French crowd on Lenglen like he's in charge of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. The lefty is milking every last drop of support from his passionate capacity fan club and it looks like he's heading into the last 16, up 3-6, 6-4, 6-4, 2-0 against Austria's Sebastian Ofner.

22:28

Alcaraz up two sets to love

Carlos Alcaraz wins a BIG second set tiebreak against Sebi Korda on Chatrier and it leaves the Spaniard in control and just a set away from the fourth round.

Alcaraz started the shootout with an enormous forehand winner up the line and he finished with another on his second set point to lead the American 6-4, 7-6(5).

22:05

Moutet on the comeback trail

It could become a special night on Lenglen. A capacity crowd have been loving every minute of Corentin Moutet working his way back into his third round match with Sebastian Ofner. The Austrian took the first 6-3, only for the French lefty to work his way back into the match by stealing the second 6-4. He's now up an early break in the third and the crowd are going WILD. This is a serious test of Ofner's composure in a Davis Cup-style atmosphere.

Two matches under the lights...

More rain means all matches on courts without a roof have been postponed for the evening. That means three men's singles matches will be held-over and finished on Saturday - Hurkacz-Shapovalov, Shelton v Auger-Aliassime and Dimitrov-Bergs.

Two matches are still going on the two main show courts. Carlos Alcaraz is up a set on Sebi Korda, while Sebastian Ofner leads Frenchman Corentin Moutet also by a set on Lenglen.

Jabeur marches on

Tunisian star Ons Jabeur is another into the second week after negotiating a tricky test against Leylah Fernandez from Canada. This was her reaction when she sealed a 6-4, 7-6(5) win on Lenglen. Top seed and world No.1 Iga Swiatek's birthday celebrations are looking good at the moment as she takes a one-set lead against Czech Marie Bouzkova. The three-time RG champ is up an early break in the second too.

Elsewhere, congratulations to Denmark's Clara Tauson who is into the fourth round at a major for the first time after beating former runner-up Sofia Kenin 6-2, 7-5.

It promises to be another action-packed day with play getting under way at 11:00 on Suzanne-Lenglen, where Varvara Gracheva will take to court in front of a home crowd to face Irina-Camelia Begu.

Also starting at 11:00, Simonne-Mathieu hosts No.7 seed Qinwen Zheng as she bids to make the fourth round here for a second time. But she’ll have to get past Elina Avanesyan first.

On Chatrier, Elena Rybakina begins against Elise Mertens at 12:00, before No.2 seed Aryna Sabalenka faces best buddy Paula Badosa.

And once the sun goes down and the lights come up, Novak Djokovic and Lorenzo Musetti will take to Chatrier in a reprise of their 2021 fourth round showdown.

16:10

Another happy Italian

Matteo Arnaldi is through to the fourth round of Roland-Garros for the first time, following compatriot Elisabetta Cocciaretto who went through earlier today.

Will they be joined by Jannik Sinner? He is currently two sets up against Pavel Kotov on Chatrier.

15:55

Sinner going strong

With Elisabetta Cocciaretto and Matteo Arnaldi already into the fourth round today, another Italian - world No.2 Jannik Sinner - is well on his way to joining them. The second seed leads Pavel Kotov 6-4, 6-4 on Chatrier.

15:46

Forza Italia as Arnaldi puts Rublev out

It’s been a good day for the Italian fans on Lenglen who have just seen Matteo Arnaldi outplay sixth seed Andrey Rublev in straight sets to move into the fourth round here for the first time.

Arnaldi edged a tight first set on a breaker before Rublev lost his head in the second. The Italian world No.35 broke in the seventh game of the third and closed out the match in style 7-6(6), 6-2, 6-4.

"I played the best tennis in my life for sure," Arnaldi told the crowd.

He’ll play China’s Zhang Zhizhen or Stefanos Tsitsipas in the last 16 on Sunday.

Coco keeps things moving

Earlier today on Chatrier, Coco Gauff put in a commanding performance against Dayana Yastremska to move into the second week of RG24.

The 20-year-old now faces Italian Elisabetta Cocciaretto in her bid for a second Grand Slam title.

Alex Sharp gives us his thoughts on the match.

Doubling up

In her last (and 20th) Roland-Garros, France’s Alize Cornet bowed out of the singles and has now said goodbye in women’s doubles too, as she and compatriot Fiona Ferro lost in the first round to Anna Blinkova and Arantxa Rus.

We’ve got one more chance to see Cornet though as she’s paired with Nicolas Mahut for the mixed doubles.

Another player we can’t quite say goodbye to is Andy Murray. The 37-year-old was knocked out in the first round by Stan Wawrinka but is back on Court 13 later today with Dan Evans to take on Sebastian Baez and Thiago Seyboth Wild.

Brits Katie Boulter and Heather Watson are in action on Court 6 and are currently a set down, but were fighting back against Hao-Ching Chan and Veronika Kudermetova when rain interrupted play.

Qualifier Danilovic makes it six wins in Paris

For the second successive day, young Serb qualifier Olga Danilovic has produced a quite incredible fightback, this time to beat Donna Vekic for a place in the fourth round at a Grand Slam for the first time in her career.

Just 24 hours after recovering from a set and 5-3 down against Danielle Collins, Danilovic battled into the last 16 with a 0-6, 7-5, 7-6(8) victory after 3 hours and 8 minutes on Court Simonne-Mathieu.

Twice Vekic served for the match deep in the third and held a 6-2 lead in the deciding breaker, but the lefty dug in to demonstrate incredible mental strength.

Danilovic will get a day to recover on Saturday before playing either fifth seed Marketa Vondrousova or French wildcard Chloe Paquet in the last 16.

14:09

Alcaraz vs Korda tonight

Carlos Alcaraz and Sebastian Korda take to Chatrier this evening for the Day 6 night session.

Neither player is a stranger to the second week here in Paris - Alcaraz was a semi-finalist last year and Korda reached the fourth round in 2020 - and the prize for victory tonight is a fourth-round meeting with either Ben Shelton or Felix Auger-Aliassime.

It's going to be a good one.

Alix Ramsay gives us a preview of what to expect.

Despite a brief wobble towards the end of her third round match against Dayana Yastremska, American Coco Gauff moved back into the fourth round with a solid 6-2, 6-4 win in the first match of the day on Chatrier.

The third seed was ahead a set and 5-2 but eventually finished the job to book a date with unseeded Italian Elisabetta Cocciaretto in the last 16 on Sunday.
