2021 rewind - Lessons learned this season
Barty cemented her status as the queen of the women’s Tour at Wimbledon, winning a second singles Grand Slam title to add to her 2019 Paris win. The Australian defeated 2021 Roland-Garros champion Barbora Krejcikova (see RG slideshow), Ajla Tomljanovic, and Angelique Kerber en route to the final, where she rounded off a near-perfect campaign with victory over Karolina Pliskova. The winner of five titles in 2021, Barty ended the year atop the world rankings, the third year in a row she has achieved the feat.
