In the women's singles, Simona Halep beat Sloane Stephens 3-6 6-4 6-1

The Romania finally got her hands on Coupe Suzanne-Lenglen after triumphing in her third Roland-Garros final. A year after losing to Jelena Ostapenko having been a set and 3-0 in the lead, the world No.1 came back from a set and break behind to defeat her American opponent.

“I just tried not to repeat the [outcome from] last year. I did everything I could, and it's amazing. Honestly I cannot believe it. I have been dreaming of this moment since I started to play tennis. I'm really happy it's happened in Roland-Garros in Paris, my special city."
