Lord and master. In another loss to world No. 4 Taylor Fritz – who put paid to the hopes of Alexander Zverev, just as he had done at Wimbledon and the US Open – Jannik Sinner showed his supreme talent in Turin with a 6-4, 6-4 triumph in 1 hour 24 minutes. In so doing, he became only the third player in history to win the Australian Open, US Open and ATP Finals in the same year, after Roger Federer (2004, 2006 and 2007) and Novak Djokovic (2015 and 2023).
