As the first alternate at the ATP Finals in Turin, Holger Rune withdrew from the fifth edition of the Next Gen ATP Finals. The tournament was won in style by Brandon Nakashima, who beat Jiri Lehecka in the final. Having had a promising season, he is set to confirm his status in 2023 and attempt to follow in his predecessors’ footsteps, who all reached at least the quarter-finals of a Major in the year after their win.
