Following the announcement that she would be “evolving away from tennis”, Serena’s return to the tour was eagerly anticipated. Queen Serena was treated to a magnificent farewell at home at the US Open. But, although a huge show had been planned after her first-round match against Danka Kovinic, SW23 made the tennis world wait by reaching the third round, defeating World No.2 Anett Kontaveit along the way. Amazing!
