On a roll after her three titles on three different surfaces (in Bad Homburg, Warsaw and Cincinnati) before arriving in New York, Caroline Garcia dazzled throughout the fortnight with her sheer power and ability to attack her opponents from the outset. These qualities earned her a place in the semi-finals of a Major for the first time in her career. Her elimination by the unshakeable Ons Jabeur did nothing to eclipse her impressive victories, such as her quarter-final against Coco Gauff.
