The revelation of this 2022 edition, 19-year-old Qinwen Zheng from China notched up two impressive victories, against Simona Halep and Alizé Cornet, before losing honourably to Iga Swiatek in the Round of 16. She was the only player to take a set off Swiatek over the course of the fortnight.
