The 2022 edition of Roland-Garros began with a surprise exit in the women’s draw. Drawn to play against Diane Parry, defending champion Barbora Krejcikova bowed out in the first round on Philippe-Chatrier court, whose spectators were fervently in favour of the French underdog. Garbiñe Muguruza, Ons Jabeur and Naomi Osaka were also knocked out in the first round.
